Marisa and Jim shared an emotional First Look on the Hotel Metro rooftop in downtown Milwaukee. Despite the rain starting to sprinkle, the two stayed outside to share the moment with their family members, who seemed just as thrilled as they did for the upcoming ceremony. Although the rain was unplanned, with umbrellas in tow we managed to take some beautiful portraits in the soft, cool light. Nothing could dampen these two’s spirits on their wedding day, and we are so happy we got to share these moments with them! Advertisements
I first met Marisa and Jim in a small coffee shop on the East side of Austin. It was serendipitous that this beautiful couple, who was engaged in Texas, was moving up to Milwaukee in the summer and planned to marry there as well. I’m so happy our schedules aligned so I was able to photograph their engagement session in my second home city – Austin. In late August, Sarah and I photographed their wedding at the Wind Point Lighthouse in Racine, and despite the day’s unpredictable weather, it could not have been more perfect. Their ceremony was intimate and moving…full of a lot of happy tears, sunshine, and even a little light rain. The party finished their night off with dinner, drinks, and teeny tiny desserts at Braise in Milwaukee. Wishing these two the best of luck in their future together!
Last month we got to attend a glorious open house, Mi Casa Su Casa, at The Sanctuary Event Space in Austin, Texas. Visiting The Sanctuary is like taking a breath of fresh air; it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of the city when you step in and are surrounded by lush plants and towering oak branches. This venue doubles as a program space for the Amala Foundation, a non-profit focused on uniting “…youth from all walks of life and inspir[ing] them to grow as individuals and as leaders in service to humanity.” The Sanctuary also hosts amazing yoga classes throughout the week, and the best part is, venue rental and yoga class profits go directly toward funding Amala Foundation youth programs. Jessica and Coley, of 3 of Cups Events and 3 of Cups Design + Florals, put together some amazing setups as inspiration to the guests that evening. Take a look at the TexMex-inspired arrangements, full of bright and bold colors, a charming mix of vintage items, and citrus / flowers / cacti galore! …
To welcome in the New Year, we thought we’d highlight a super fun event we took part in at the end of 2015: Luminations. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, located in Austin, Texas, hosts Luminations, a holiday event celebrated at night with thousands of lights, every year. 3 of Cups Events designed a stellar lounge area for the event with rentals from Birch and Brass, floral design by 3 of Cups Design + Florals, and an awesome pop up bar by Firehouse Libations. We were fortunate enough to attend on Saturday, photograph the lovely set up, and host a photobooth for the event’s attendees. See more after the jump!
