Marisa and Jim are a couple after our own hearts; though the two are getting married in Wisconsin, it turns out they share our love for Texas as well! It really doesn’t get much more “Austin” than having your shoot begin at Lou Neff Point, wandering down the trail by Barton Creek, and ending with a sunset finale in Zilker Park. We were so fortunate to photograph their engagement session in the heart of Austin right before their big move up to the Cream City. Can’t wait to see y’all (and your little dog Nugget!) in Milwaukee! Advertisements
We love working in the great outdoors, but sometimes you need to take a break and mix it up a little! Check out this mini-engagement session at the Long Center – we love the geometric urban feel that the space provided, and of course how adorably in love the couple is.
Earlier this year we were able to participate in a fantastic bohemian styled shoot at Grassdale; with spacious nordic tentipi, open grasslands, and a dress so perfectly suited for a windy blustery day, this awesome group off vendors was able to pull of some real magic. Paula, planner from Beau Tied Events in Austin, Texas, says of the styling: “I plan a lot of weddings that are geared toward bohemian aesthetics and I really wanted to create a soft, romantic and whimsical shoot to show case this style fitted for a early spring wedding soiree in a teepee!” Sounds fun! We love the setups in the tent, how warm and intimate the space is, and being able to go play outside in the wind, then come back in when it gets too chilly. Last month we got to attend a glorious open house, Mi Casa Su Casa, at The Sanctuary Event Space in Austin, Texas. Visiting The Sanctuary is like taking a breath of fresh air; it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of the city when you step in and are surrounded by lush plants and towering oak branches. This venue doubles as a program space for the Amala Foundation, a non-profit focused on uniting “…youth from all walks of life and inspir[ing] them to grow as individuals and as leaders in service to humanity.” The Sanctuary also hosts amazing yoga classes throughout the week, and the best part is, venue rental and yoga class profits go directly toward funding Amala Foundation youth programs. Jessica and Coley, of 3 of Cups Events and 3 of Cups Design + Florals, put together some amazing setups as inspiration to the guests that evening. Take a look at the TexMex-inspired arrangements, full of bright and bold colors, a charming mix of vintage items, and citrus / flowers / cacti galore! …

A peek into the tear-jerking ceremony between Emily and Tanner. This beautiful wedding was held at the Captain Shepard House of the Gage Hotel in Marathon, West Texas.
This lovely wedding was held at the Gage Hotel, right in the middle of the expansive Chihuahuan desert. The Groom and Groomsmen got ready for the First Look in the Casa Jardin, while the Bride and Bridesmaids, following their hair and makeup, headed to the Captain Shepard House to dress. We had a great time taking portraits in the Gage Gardens and out in the desert before the Ceremony started!
