Dreamy Rainy Wedding Portraits with Liz and Josh

Liz and Josh were so ecstatic on their wedding day that no hiccups, even forgetting the marriage license (whoops!) could bring them down! They happily ventured out in the soft drizzle with their bridesmaids and groomsmen for some of the dreamiest portraits we’ve had the privilege of shooting. Scroll down to see! Advertisements

Bohemian Wedding Inspiration

Earlier this year we were able to participate in a fantastic bohemian styled shoot at Grassdale; with spacious nordic tentipi, open grasslands, and a dress so perfectly suited for a windy blustery day, this awesome group off vendors was able to pull of some real magic. Paula, planner from Beau Tied Events in Austin, Texas, says of the styling: “I plan a lot of weddings that are geared toward bohemian aesthetics and I really wanted to create a soft, romantic and whimsical shoot to show case this style fitted for a early spring wedding soiree in a teepee!” Sounds fun! We love the setups in the tent, how warm and intimate the space is, and being able to go play outside in the wind, then come back in when it gets too chilly. Mi Casa Su Casa: Wedding Inspo in Austin

Last month we got to attend a glorious open house, Mi Casa Su Casa, at The Sanctuary Event Space in Austin, Texas. Visiting The Sanctuary is like taking a breath of fresh air; it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of the city when you step in and are surrounded by lush plants and towering oak branches. This venue doubles as a program space for the Amala Foundation, a non-profit focused on uniting “…youth from all walks of life and inspir[ing] them to grow as individuals and as leaders in service to humanity.” The Sanctuary also hosts amazing yoga classes throughout the week, and the best part is, venue rental and yoga class profits go directly toward funding Amala Foundation youth programs. Jessica and Coley, of 3 of Cups Events and 3 of Cups Design + Florals, put together some amazing setups as inspiration to the guests that evening. Take a look at the TexMex-inspired arrangements, full of bright and bold colors, a charming mix of vintage items, and citrus / flowers / cacti galore! …

Spring floral details from Weddings in the Ward

Our good friend Sally at Milwaukee Flower Company did some fabulous work for Saturday’s event in downtown Milwaukee – Weddings in the Ward – and we were thrilled to be able to capture it! First, we snapped some lovely photos of Sally’s breakfast-in-bed arrangement (as well as some unique & inspiring elements around the warehouse!) at Relics Vintage Rentals in Walker’s Point. Next, we enjoyed the fashion show at Fred Astaire Dance Studio showcasing some lovely gowns from Miss Ruby’s Boutique and captured Sally’s gorgeous, wearable floral pieces. Check out the loveliness below!

DIY: Cascading Holiday Wreath

What better way to welcome in the holidays than a festive wreath hanging on your door? We wanted to take the traditional wreath and give it a twist with a cascading effect. This piece is great to welcome in your guests before Thanksgiving dinner, a Christmas day gift-exchange, or any other time throughout the chilly winter months. Find out how to DIY after the jump!
